Manuel is a member of Productores Apícolas de las Montañas de los Altos (PAMA), a cooperative made up of 50 members from the municipalities of Chenaló, Chalchihutitán and Aldama in the state of Chiapas, that produces and commercializes products derived from bee honey while taking care of the environment.

Environmentally, apiculture is an extremely important activity. Bees offer, through pollination, one of the most important natural services for the conservation and regeneration of biodiversity. The beekeepers of the cooperative produce organically and participate in fair trade.

El Buen Socio has already given two loans to PAMA in the past. However, this is the first time that individual producers are asking for credits.

Manuel has requested a loan to buy bee hives and to purchase raw material and working capital to produce honey. Through this loan, he will be able to increase his production of honey and thus increase his income and improve his quality of life.
